Introduction

Structured data gives search engines a machine-readable description of a page, which is what makes FAQ dropdowns, app listings and article metadata eligible for rich results. Writing JSON-LD by hand is error prone because one missing comma invalidates the block. The JSON-LD Schema Generator builds a complete script tag for four schema.org types from a short form, entirely in the browser.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Pick a type from the switcher: Software Application, FAQPage Schema, Article / Blog or Organization.
  2. Fill the fields shown for that type, such as Application Name, Category and Description for a software app.
  3. For FAQPage, enter Question 1 and Question 2 with their answers in the paired text boxes.
  4. Watch the Generated JSON-LD Tag pane, which rewrites the script tag as you type.
  5. Click Copy Script Tag and paste the block inside the head of the page it describes.

Key Use Cases

  • Tool landing page: Describe a free web app with SoftwareApplication so it carries a category and price in search listings.
  • Help page FAQs: Mark up two common questions as FAQPage to qualify for expandable answers in results.
  • Blog post metadata: Attach an Article headline and author name to a new post.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which fields can I change for each type?

Software Application exposes name, category and description; operating system is fixed to Web and the offer is fixed to price 0 in USD. FAQPage accepts exactly two question and answer pairs. Article accepts a headline and author name, with the author typed as Person and datePublished fixed to 2026-08-04. Organization has no inputs and outputs fixed SmartToolPack values.

Can I add a third FAQ question or change the article date?

Not in the tool. Copy the script tag and edit the JSON directly: duplicate a Question object inside mainEntity, or replace the datePublished value. The output is standard JSON-LD so manual edits are safe as long as the structure stays valid.

Does the tool validate the schema against Google's requirements?

No. It generates syntactically valid JSON from your inputs but does not check required properties for rich results. After pasting, run the page through a structured data testing tool to confirm eligibility.
