Introduction

Lists copied from spreadsheets, logs or chat threads tend to arrive with duplicate entries, stray spaces and blank lines. Cleaning them by hand is slow and easy to get wrong. Text Cleaners & Deduplicator applies one operation at a time to the text on the left and shows the result on the right, with the original never overwritten and nothing leaving the browser.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Paste the list into the Input box, one item per line, replacing the sample text.
  2. Click an operation button such as Remove duplicate lines, Sort A to Z or Remove extra spaces; the Output pane updates immediately.
  3. Check the line and character counts shown under each pane to confirm the change.
  4. Click Use as input to feed the result back into the Input box and apply a second operation, such as Remove empty lines after deduplicating.
  5. Click Copy above Output to copy the cleaned text, or Clear to start over.

Key Use Cases

  • Email list cleanup: Remove duplicate addresses and trailing spaces before importing into a mailing tool.
  • Keyword research: Sort a scraped keyword list alphabetically and drop blank rows.
  • Safe HTML snippets: Escape angle brackets and quotes before pasting code into a web page or comment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which operations are available?

Remove duplicate lines, Sort A to Z, Sort Z to A, Remove extra spaces, Remove empty lines, Reverse lines, Reverse characters, HTML escape and HTML unescape. Only one runs at a time, but Use as input lets you chain them in sequence.

How does duplicate detection treat spacing and case?

Lines are compared after trimming leading and trailing whitespace, so apple and apple with surrounding spaces count as the same line and the first occurrence is kept. Case is not ignored, so Apple and apple remain separate. Run Remove extra spaces first if inner spacing differs.

What do HTML escape and unescape convert?

Escape replaces ampersand, less than, greater than, double quote and single quote with their entity forms (&, <, >, " and '). Unescape reverses exactly those five entities and does not decode numeric codes or other named entities such as  .
